Wine Red – An Independent Apartment at Villa Santa Chiara
Wine Red is an independent two-bedroom apartment within Villa Santa Chiara, a restored 17th-century Tuscan property set on a hill just outside Siena's ancient city walls, approximately 15 minutes' walk from Piazza del Campo.
The apartment has its own entrance directly from the garden and is arranged over two floors, connected by internal stairs.
The apartment
The ground floor contains the living/dining area and a fully equipped kitchen.
The sleeping area is on the first floor, with 2 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
One of the double bedrooms can be prepared as a twin bedroom upon request.
The Villa and garden
Wine Red opens directly onto the garden of Villa Santa Chiara, with lawns, flowers, Mediterranean plants and olive trees.
A fully equipped BBQ is available for guests.
The swimming pool is open from May 15 to September 30. The pool and garden areas may be shared with guests staying in the other apartments at the Villa. We, the owners, live on the property in our own separate private area and may occasionally use the pool as well.
The sauna and heated spa are open from November 1 to April 30. The cold spa is open from May 15 to September 30.
The estate and the views
Villa Santa Chiara is surrounded by approximately five hectares of land with some 500 olive trees, from which we produce our own organic extra-virgin olive oil.
To the south, the landscape extends across the Crete Senesi and Val d'Orcia towards Mount Amiata. To the north is the Siena skyline, including Porta Romana, the Basilica dei Servi, Torre del Mangia and the ancient city walls.
Despite this countryside setting, Siena is within easy walking distance. Piazza del Campo is approximately 15 minutes away on foot, together with the city's museums, churches, restaurants, cafés, shops and wine bars.
During your stay
We live at Villa Santa Chiara and are available for restaurant recommendations, practical assistance and suggestions for exploring Siena and the surrounding countryside.
Upon request, we can also help arrange private dinners, cooking experiences, wine tastings, truffle hunting and other local activities.
Claudia, Anna's elder daughter, is a licensed professional tour guide for Siena and the surrounding area and is available for private guided visits.

Thank you again to our amazing hosts for such a wonderful stay in the Red Wine Villa. It was perfect for our time exploring Tuscany! The location close to Siena made dinners convenient and the beautiful pool was much needed after days full of exploring. The AC in the bedrooms was a lifesaver, especially given the heat wave! Don’t hesitate in booking this perfect Tuscan retreat.

Our party of five had plenty of space in our part of the lovely villa. Good directions to find the property, just outside the city walls. Easy parking at the villa. It was a 25 minute walk, some uphill to the city center. Everything we needed was in the apartment. Very nice hosts who provided good information on where to eat. Nice grounds with some modifications in progress.
