Formerly the home of one of two transmitter blocks serving RAF Ringstead during the Second World War, the Transmitter Bunker was part of the Chain Home radar, a coastal early warning system which stretched from Cornwall in the West to Norfolk in the East. The station was commissioned in early 1941 and finally decommissioned in 1956. The renovation has had regard for the fact that the Bunker is listed Grade-II, with the original concrete walls and other features retained.
